The project is located at 1529 16th St., NW in Washington D.C. The Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center has a total gross floor area of approx. 62,000 SF. However, the total area of work for the project is approx. 28,000 SF.
This project added modern controls to existing systems from previous renovations, allowing for increased energy savings while also presenting new challenges. During commissioning, we discovered that while the new systems gave the owner more control over individual rooms, scheduling and night setbacks were being overridden by occupants.
Baumann provided DCRA code-compliant commissioning for this project. In addition to commissioning, Baumann provided the following services:
- MEP punch-list closeout assistance
- Water balancing analysis for new and existing hydronic pipe
- A sequence of operation design assist for the DOAS unit
