As the former home of the U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters, the David Nassif Building has held a commanding presence at the intersection of 7th and D Street SW in Washington, D.C. for nearly four decades. The building was dramatically reinvented as Constitution Center, a completely renovated property offering cutting-edge technology and security standards that exceed ISC Level IV.
The OCC occupies 50% of the building’s ten floors. OCC’s offices total nearly 640,000 ft² of renovated space that achieved LEED certification at the Platinum level.
This innovative project included the use of chilled beam technologies not commonly found in the Washington, D.C. area. Baumann Consulting was chosen as the Commissioning Agent, which included performance verification of the chilled beam system. The Baumann team drew from extensive experience and expertise in radiant cooling systems from numerous projects in Europe.
The Baumann team used Operation Diagnostics to visualize and analyze over 2,500 data points for ongoing Monitoring-Based Commissioning.
Moreover, Baumann Consulting commissioned the remaining building systems including HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, and fire suppression.
