As we continue our Meet the People at Baumann series, which gives a spotlight on the diverse team of Baumann Consulting, we want to highlight the members of our Building Performance Analytics (BPA) team. We express our gratitude for their invaluable support in our mission to deliver solutions for a carbon-neutral real estate industry.
Ajit Naik, Vice President, is the Director of Baumann’s Building Performance Analytics Practice Area. Ajit started his journey at Baumann Consulting in 2018 as a Commissioning and Energy Engineer. He plays a crucial role in shaping and broadening the BPA service, ensuring a more comprehensive simulation method that considers previously unaccounted spaces. Ajit actively participates in industry organizations to promote the Baumann brand and serves as a mentor for the junior Baumann team members. In addition to his work at Baumann, Ajit is an adjunct faculty member at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture and Engineering, where he teaches a graduate-level course on Building Energy Conservation. Furthermore, Ajit is involved in giving back to the community through his volunteer work with the Illinois Green Alliance’s Green Schools Program. He also serves as a local board member for the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA), where he facilitates regular meetups for industry practitioners to network and share insights.

The BPA team at Baumann Consulting boasts a diverse group of professionals with international expertise, continuously enhancing skills to deliver the best service possible to our clients. Our engineers not only focus on building simulation but also engage in hands-on fieldwork, collaborating with contractors during site visits to test equipment and gain insight into prevailing construction practices. They are well-versed in hands-on building assessment, computer-based analysis, and local energy efficiency and sustainability codes, enabling them to guide clients through complex regulatory challenges while achieving project goals. The BPA team is dedicated to enhancing clients‘ quality of life by testing new tools and techniques through simulations.
