Drexel University IEMP

Baumann Consulting developed an Integrated Energy Master Plan (IEMP) for Drexel University’s Philadelphia campus to use as a roadmap for achieving the University’s targeted energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction goals by 2020.

Baumann Consulting was brought on board to develop an Integrated Energy Master Plan (IEMP) for the campus of Drexel University located in Philadelphia, PA. The IEMP is used as a roadmap for achieving the University’s targeted energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction goals by 2020.

During the development of the Drexel University IEMP, Baumann collaborates closely with clients to answer the following key questions and establish the desired outcomes of the project.

    • What is the Plan’s projected timeframe?
    • What percentage energy use reduction must be achieved within the determined timeframe?
    • What amount of greenhouse gas reduction must be achieved within the determined timeframe?
    • What is the desired internal rate of return?

With these goals in mind, Baumann analyzed the existing conditions of the campus to determine building types, conditions, and current energy usage. Each building was then modeled individually to develop a detailed model for projected future energy demand. This data informed the development of a project timeline and cost estimates for proposed energy conservation measures.
